Happy Wednesday! I’m sorry I have been slacking on the blog posts. We had a death in the family recently so everything got put on hold – family always comes first. It’s also officially crunch time for finishing the house remodel. We have three more weeks until we need to be out of our current place! My whole social life has pretty much been non-existent for the last month. I know this will all be worth it in the end, and I can’t wait to show you all the final result!

So todays post is a little fitness with a little fashion. I basically live in leggings and sneakers. It’s my typical weekend outfit for running errands, because it’s comfortable and I always feel more motivated when I’m wearing “athleisure”. I also wear this to work out or bike ride, but to be honest a lot of the time that I’m wearing athletic gear it’s not actually for working out, LOL.

I wanted to talk a little bit about my workout routine and how I find motivation. It’s definitely not always easy, and I’m guilty of slacking for a couple days and sometimes getting of track for a week or two.  For me, I find a lot of motivation in thinking about some of the upcoming events that I have. Whether it’s a beach vacation, a wedding, or a getaway weekend with friends, I always pre-plan my outfits and that motivates me to do those sit-ups after work and eat my chicken and veggies for dinner.  Wearing cute, tight fitting workout clothes has also always been a big motivator for me. You’re not going to see your problem areas in loose fitting clothing and you’re not going to be able to see your results either! Find what motivates you, stick to a routine that works with your schedule, and you will start seeing results.

I work out at home, and I use the I-Books by Alexa Jean Fitness. She is such an inspiration, and I’ve seen great results from using her “Butt and Leg 30 Day Challenge” and “Sore to the Core 30 Day Ab Program”. I also have a recumbent bike that I ride for 20-30 minutes a day. Even though I’ve been slacking a little lately, I try to work out at least three times a week. As far as my diet goes, I’m not on any specific program. I’ve just learned what my body responds best to, and I try my best to eat clean and not eat many preservatives. My breakfast usually consists of 2 egg whites with a piece of rye toast and turkey bacon, or oatmeal and fruit. I eat little snacks throughout the whole day because I’m literally hungry all the time. I love granny smith apples with peanut butter and honey, or cucumbers with Catalina dressing (it sounds weird but trust me, try it). Lunch is usually a grilled chicken salad, or a tuna fish with plain greek yogurt on a wrap. We try to always have a lot of veggies with dinner, and a lean meat. Don’t get me wrong, I have days where I just eat whatever I want, I don’t think I’d survive if I didn’t, but I try to eat healthy for the most part. If I’m feeling like I need to shed a pound or two, I’ll eat low carb and avoid sugar. It’s all about balance, and when I’m eating clean and on a normal workout routine I always feel more confident.

I love bright colored sports bras because I wear a lot of black and gray leggings so it gives the outfit a pop of color. I linked these leggings in my last Instagram roundup and they have been on repeat lately.  You guys know I love high waisted everything. I unfortunately can’t find this exact Nike zip up anywhere online but I linked two very similar styles below.  My mom gave me these sneakers because she ordered my size on accident instead of hers (I love it when she does that) so we both have a pair and love them.

I hope you enjoyed this post, and that these tips may help you if your struggling to find motivation. Have a great week and thanks for much for reading !
